Peter's obituary
🕊️ In Loving Memory of Peter Citarelli 🕊️
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Peter. He battled addiction for many years, a struggle that often clouded how the world saw him—but never who he truly was.
Peter was more than his pain. He was brilliant, creative, and deeply loving. He could solve problems with ease, build things with his hands and his mind, and come up with ideas that made you stop and say, “How did he think of that?”
He had a quick wit, a beautiful laugh, and a heart that loved fiercely—especially his family. Even in the hardest moments, his love never left us. We always saw the real Peter beneath the struggle: a son, a brother, a friend, a soul with so much light.
Addiction is a cruel illness—it doesn’t define a person, but it does weigh heavy. Peter carried that weight for so long, and now we pray he is finally at peace.
We invite anyone who knew Peter to share a memory, a photo, or a few words about how he touched your life. Let’s remember him not only for the challenges he faced, but for the unique and beautiful spirit that he was.
Rest easy, Peter. You were always loved. He  passed away on July 08, 2025 at the age of 47, following cardiac arrest addiction related with septicemia.
Peter was born in Brookhaven memorial hospital in New York on June 22, 1978 to parents, Margaret Citarelli. He was one of 7 children . He always wanted to help others. He proudly stated that he wanted to be an addiction counselor. Peter’s memory will forever be cherished by margaret citarelli- mom
