Pete supported Southern Poverty Law Center because it advances human rights for all people, fighting racism and discrimination; Habitat for Humanity because Pete liked the concept of building houses to build self-reliance; and Amnesty International because they focus on the individual - both the case that shows the abuse as well as the individual who takes action for human rights to win changes in culture, politics, and law.
