Peter's obituary
It is with great sadness that we are writing. We wanted to let you know that Peter passed away on Friday (May 21st) from septic shock. Though many of you may have heard about his recent health issues, his death was sudden and unexpected. He made it clear early on that he did not want any of this to define him. Over the past couple of months, he truly appreciated the notes and prayers from you as he navigated the impacts of his recent illness and hospital visits. One of his biggest frustrations was the fogginess from the meds impacting his ability to write. We will all miss his musings, humor, and the unique take on life he shared with all of you through his writing.
We ask for your thoughts, prayers, and love as we take time to process and make arrangements following Peter's passing. We know many of you would like to send your condolences, flowers, etc. we appreciate those thoughts, but encourage you to donate instead to a fund we've set up in Peter's name.
While Peter did not want a funeral, we are considering a future memorial and possible location(s) to spread his ashes, as we make those plans over the next few weeks and months, we will keep you all informed about how you can best show your support and love.
