Peter Bakker, 66, husband of Lynne F. Bakker, of Phoenixville, died Friday morning, August 8, in Phoenixville Hospital, Phoenixville, Chester County, PA. Born in Stiens, the Netherlands, he was a son of the late Jan and Trijntje (Boersma) Bakker. Mr. Bakker attended school in Holland, and later attended Penn State University. He worked as a supervisor at Philadelphia Gear Corporation, for 34 years, retiring in 2000. Mr. Bakker was an Army veteran and a veteran of the Merchant Marines. He coached and was past president of the Phoenixville Area Soccer Club for more than 10 years, and coached the Teams USA that traveled to Europe to play soccer. Surviving in addition to his wife of 32 years are a daughter, Diana C. Goodreau of Superior, Colorado; and a son, Eric S. Bakker of Chester Springs. A funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Main Street and Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville. Burial will be in the Washington Memorial Chapel Chruchyard, Valley Forge. Calling hours will be held from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
