Pete definitely expanded my musical palate. When he found out I was living in Ithaca he sent me some heads ups about music in my area that he thought I should check out. And I did - and loved it - wouldn't have known about it otherwise and had some amazingly fun shows because of him. I love that he loved music so much to share it with others to expand their horizons.
I love the passion and honesty he put into writing his book and helping others. I have passed his book on to many young people I know who are navigating tough times and transitions. I truly cherish the time we all had together when you were on book tour and camped on our property. Do you remember we watched the kids one night so you could go to the movies in Cortland like you did on your very first date? How sweet! I have thought of you all so often and always love seeing the things your family is doing. I am not so good about keeping in touch but I have thought of you all so fondly through the years.  I was just talking a couple of weeks back to some friends, sharing a story about when you were visiting and all SIX kids were creating a ruckus and Pete was casually sitting on the couch strumming his guitar. I was like "Pete, how come you are so calm? What is your secret? This noise and chaos is driving me batty!" and he replied "what?"...and then took out his earplugs. I thought that was so genius and funny. I am so glad I had the privilege of meeting and sharing time with you and your wonderful family during that visit.  Holding you and the kids close to my heart and sending so much love and hugs. xoxo
Sending your sweet family love during this painful time. When I think of Pete, I think of him smiling, and singing, and adoring all of you 💜
Pete, you were a one of a kind sweet, loving, empathetic guy. You were so thoughtful & giving & the kind of person one could talk to forever- on almost any topic. The world needs more amazing people like you. Your sweet family is in our prayers. Sending Gina & the kids so much love.
Pete was a genuine, honest and loyal friend. Always looking out for his friends. He was funny , talented and just real. He always just gushed about his wife and kids and joked how he didn’t deserve such a loving wife. He was there for me when I went through my struggles with mental illness and addiction, never judging, always empathetic and shared his struggles as well. He was truly a good person who fought everyday to deserve the love from his family. I’ve known him since high school and we became friends instantly. Just a fun kid to be around. I was so happy to reconnect with him and hear about his journey in life. I always felt he would be ok because he loved his wife and kids so much. My heart breaks that wasn’t enough. I’m so sorry for all who loved him. I hope he knew just how much his friendship had helped me in my darkest moments. For all his demons to see him be successful, In love, with his music, his teaching…just his desire to enjoy life was an inspiring thing for me to know I could have the same. I’m so sorry his journey has ended. He was a beloved friend whom I always rooted for . I pray for all the strength his wife and children will need to find peace and acceptance. My condolences to all who loved and valued his friendship. I pray he is finally at peace.

Pete always had the warmest smile and the biggest hug. He genuinely cared about everyone, and took his time to listen and give of himself and his experiences. I will miss listening to his music and singing, especially around the campfire. He brought so much joy wherever he went. I am so saddened for Gina's and the children's great loss.
My heart is very sad when I heard that Peter has passed. I did not know him as an adult, but remember him as a boy when I spent part of my summers with my cousins Rosemarie and Pete.

I've seen pics of his beautiful children and wife over the years.

You are all in my prayers. Rest in Peace Cousin Peter.
So sorry for your loss.  I loved being a witness to many jam sessions with Pete and the many many laughs we had together.  Thoughts and Prayers go out to you Gina and the kids.
I still can’t fathom this loss. Sending love to Gina and their beautiful family ❤️
My heart and prayers go to The Giargente family. Mr. G was was a rare teacher to have. Those that had the honor to be his students will forever remember the impact his teachings about life and the importance of a higher education. I was blessed to have known him for the little time but the memories I got to share as student will remain forever in my life. I had the opportunity to read a personal signed copy of his book and will truly forever cherish it. Thank you Mr. G may you rest in paradise you will be missed.
Rest in peace to Peter Giargente, our formal 5th grade teacher at Hope Rural School in Indiantown, Florida. Mr. G was a very impacting teacher and genuine human being. My sister Mariana, formal students and I were very blessed to have him as our 5th grade teacher. He was able to purse his dreams as an author and wrote one of the most influential books. Mr. G will always have a special place in our hearts. Prayers out for his family.
