Perry Mollis Moore Jr. of San Antonio passed away on October 17, 2025. Perry was born July 23, 1938 to Jeanne Mattison Moore and Perry Hollis Moore Sr. in San Antonio, Texas.

After graduating from Jefferson High School, he attended St. Mary's University and graduated with a BS in Biology. He began his career as a Research Biologist at Texas Biomedical Research Foundation. His publications were in the field of Developmental Steroid Radioimmunoassy and Lipoprotein Methodology. He later worked in the Genetics Department doing research for NIH focused on diabetes among the Hispanic population. Perry retired from the Foundation after 50 Years.

As a young man he enlisted in the United States Air Force Reserves, and later was Commissioned as a znd Lt. As a member of the 34th AES at Kelly AFB, his unit was called to Active Duty in 1968 during the Pueblo crisis during the Vietnam War. He later said that the 18 months of Active Duty was the highlights of his military career. The 34th AES flew more than 98,000 patients from Southeast Asia, and flew over 1,300 combat support missions. His main duties were on the flight line coordinating with hospitals and air support. They had from three to eleven flights a day and from 300 to 700 patients a day. He later became Commander of the 34th AES, and after 25 years of service Lt. Col. Perry H. Moore Jr. retired as commander of the 34th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron in 1986.

One of Perry's (Pat) passions was horses, more specifically the Paso Fino horse. During the 1970-1980s Pat and his son Patrick raised, bred and showed Paso Fino horses. Pat served as President of Great Western Paso Fino Owners and Breeders Association which encompassed all of the states west of the Mississippi river. Pat and his son Patrick showed horses throughout the country with his son winning three National Championships.

After retiring at age 70, Pat remained very active. His love of the outdoors included gardening, antiques and restoration, and he continued working with his horses. He is survived by his wife of 37 years Becky Clifton-Moore, four children, Patrick Moore, Page Brown, Shannon Moore and Rebecca Ashcraft; and 7 grandchildren, Hannah Brown, Molly Brown, Rowan Moore, Jeremiah Ashcraft, Joanna Ashcraft, John Ashcraft, and Juliette Ashcraft. Pat's life was truly a Life Well Lived.
