Perry's obituary

Perry Norman McClellan, Sr. passed away surrounded by family and loved ones on Monday, February 19, 2024 at NKC Hospital in Kansas City, MO. Perry is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn; children, Cynthia Lum of Corpus Christi, TX; Eva Sarabia of San Antonio, TX; Perry McClellan, Jr. of San Antonio, TX; Genie Dye of San Antonio, TX; Thomas McClellan of Kansas City, MO; Michael McClellan of Kansas City, MO; 15 grandchildren, and many more great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Perry was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Bennie, along with his 3 siblings, Genie, Eleanor, and Mickey.
Perry was born in Tallassee, Alabama on June 6, 1938. He became a certified welder, owned an insulation business, owned a tire shop, and worked in the shrimping industry. He loved working hard and doing a job well done. He loved the beach and fishing. He was at his happiest with a fishing pole or sail line nearby. He loved the Atlanta Braves. He loved to laugh and give everyone he loved a hard time. Whether it was telling his grandsons that we were having frog legs for dinner or answering the phone with “Joe’s Pool Room” instead of hello, Perry could always bring a smile to your face. He loved gospel music and singing about Jesus. He also played the harmonica and enjoyed sharing his music with others. He loved old westerns and action movies. He was proud of his children and loved everything about his life. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
