Penny's obituary

Penny Lynn (Tainter) Shultz (née Miner), age 64, passed away on April 16, 2025, in Bryan, Texas. Born on July 6, 1960, in Orange County, Florida, Penny lived a life filled with love—for her family, for animals, and for the many people whose lives she touched along the way.

Penny was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She is survived by her loving husband Rodney Dale Shultz Sr., with whom she shared countless cherished memories. She also leaves behind her beloved daughter Brandy Hubble and son-in-law Wade Hubble; her treasured grandchildren Tawny Shultz, Wyatt Hubble, Ryder Shultz, and Hunter Shultz; and her adored great-granddaughter Lorelie Shultz. Penny is also survived by her mother Betty Miner; her brothers Maturon Jr., Darrel, and Brent; and her sister Lee.

She was preceded in death by her father Maturon Miner Sr.; her beloved son Rodney Dale Shultz Jr.; and her parents-in-law Robert and Nancy Shultz. The loss of her son weighed heavily on Penny’s heart throughout her final years. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with him and others she held dear who passed before her.

Penny had a lifelong passion for animals that defined much of who she was. From horses to rabbits to more exotic companions, she welcomed all creatures into her heart and home. Over the years she cared for dogs, cats, chickens—any animal lucky enough to cross paths with her found love and sanctuary. Her compassion for animals was matched only by the depth of love she had for those closest to her.

Despite facing numerous health challenges in recent years, Penny remained resilient and full of spirit. Her strength inspired those around her even as she endured pain. Her passing brings peace from suffering but leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Penny will be remembered not only for the warmth she brought into every room but also for the way she made others feel. She touched many lives—family members, friends, neighbors—and each one carries a piece of her legacy forward.

May Penny Lynn Shultz rest in eternal peace. Her memory will continue to bring comfort to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
