Background
We founded Penny's Promise in honor of my mother, Penny Mons, who tragically passed away far too young from a rare and devastating form of Alzheimer's known as Primary Progressive Aphasia.
For 15 years, we searched the globe for answers, desperate to find solutions. What we discovered was both heartbreaking and hopeful—diseases like this can be prevented if detected early. Yet, too often, people receive a diagnosis only after irreversible damage has been done.
Penny’s Promise is dedicated to advancing research in screening tools and diagnostics so that no family has to endure the suffering that ours did. By focusing on early detection and intervention, we aim to change the future of Alzheimer's care—one where prevention is possible and hope replaces despair.
But research alone is not enough. Families navigating this disease need support, resources, and guidance. Penny’s Promise is committed to helping those affected by Alzheimer’s and other neurodegenerative diseases by providing education, finances, connecting caregivers with vital resources, and ensuring that no one faces this battle alone.
This is Penny’s legacy—a promise to fight for a future where families are empowered, lives are saved, and suffering is prevented.
