Peggy "Peg" Thorpe, known for her feisty yet charming personality, passed away on May 28, 2025. Born on Nov 11, 1936, Peggy’s life was a remarkable journey filled with numerous achievements which included her graduation from the University of Utah in 1955. Her legacy is beautifully reflected in a close-knit family and her legendary presence in the hearts of those who had the honor of knowing her.

She was predeceased by her father, Jack Olsen, her mother, Pearl Olsen, and her brother, Jackie Olsen. She is survived by her sons Eric, Chris, and Kent Malmquist, and her daughter, Liz Malmquist. She was a cherished grandmother to her grandchildren - Alexa and Jayven Weakly, Parker, Tiffany, and Henry Malmquist, and Trevor, Ryan Weakly, and Vaeda Huckabone.

Peggy was a warm and loving individual who took great joy in simple pleasures of life. She loved meals of pot roast and mashed potatoes, and had a fondness for cucumber sandwiches and potato chips. She relished the coke and coffee made by Lexi, and her tastes in music and television mirrored her vibrant personality with favorites like Queen, Prince, Lady Gaga, Maury, Judge Judy, and the Fashion Police. The movie Psycho held a special place in her heart.

She had a profound appreciation for art, especially the works of Liz and Van Gogh. Peggy was a fan of games like Scrabble and Uno. She cherished time spent with her family, watching TV, caring for her dog Gracie, seeing her grandchildren happy, and spending time outdoors.

Peggy's favorite form of exercise was walking, and she cherished the beauty of San Francisco, making it her favorite vacation spot. Locally, she frequented Daily Rise Coffee, enjoyed the Farmers Market, and Carlos Produce. Passionate about politics, shopping and coffee, she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to the causes she cared about.

Best remembered for her red-colored favorites, Peggy was an embodiment of kindness. She shared a priceless lesson with those around her - "Always be kind, because you never know what someone is going through." Her life, full of love, laughter, and charisma, was a testament to this tenet.

Peggy was a phenomenal mother and grandmother who dedicated her life to nurturing her loved ones. She will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate to have known her as a guiding light and constant source of love.
