Peggy's obituary
Miss Peggy June Ballinger, 67 of Dallas City, Illinois was called home on the 21st day of July, 2024 after suffering a massive stroke three weeks prior. She was born on June 15th, 1957 in Illinois to Betty Lou (Hoskins) and Floyd James Ballinger Sr. She is survived by her siblings Carol Pence, Ruth Higbee and Floyd James Ballinger Jr. Children Robert Young, JJ (Natasha) Young, Nicole Fisher, Julie Schneider and Pamela Fisher. 18 beloved grandchildren, close step daughter Michelle and companion Jim Glisan. Preceded her in death was her mother, father, nephew Aaron Higbee and ex-husbands Roy Young and Wayne Barkley.
Peggy June grew up in Dallas City, Illinois graduating in 1975. Then spending time in Arizona, Texas, and Illinois working in housekeeping and caretaking of the young and the elderly while also raising her five children alongside Donald Fisher.
She will be remembered for her big heart, free spirit, and her love for the Lord. She had a passion for the outdoors, taking long walks and collecting rocks as she found beauty in them all. She also loved her frogs and had an extensive collection. Peggy’s hobbies included sewing, crocheting, and especially talented in drawing. She also dearly loved her animals and always had at least one turtle, bird, cat or dog. Her kindness and warm hugs will be dearly missed by so many.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Miss Peggy June Ballinger on Friday, August 23rd 2-5 with speaker from 3-4 at The Landing Bar and Grill, 490 West 1st St. Dallas City, Illinois. The Fort Madison Bridge will be under construction so please plan ahead if coming from the Iowa side. Food and Drinks will be available for purchase with only light snacks provided. Please stop by and help give Peggy the send she deserves and grab one of her frogs in memory of her.
