Peggy's obituary

Obituary for Peggy Joyce Fenn

Peggy Hutchinson Fenn, age 79, of Keystone Heights, Florida, passed away suddenly on October 26, 2025, following a brief illness. Born on March 29, 1946, at St. Lukes Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida, Peggy was the beloved daughter of the late Clifford James Hutchinson and Lottie Louise Cowart-Hutchinson. Though Jacksonville was her birthplace, Keystone Heights became her cherished home for many years, where she built a life rooted in family, faith, and community.

Peggy graduated from Andrew Jackson in 1964. She went to work at Southern Bell in Jacksonville until she married and moved to Keystone Heights. Peggy dedicated much of her professional life to Clay Electric, where she worked as a secretary of purchasing, until her retirement. Known for her diligence and reliability, she earned the respect of colleagues and contributed meaningfully to the organization. Beyond her career, Peggy’s true vocation was found in the love and care she poured into her family and friends.

She leaves behind her devoted husband, Charles Byron “Buddy” Fenn, with whom she shared a lifetime of companionship and love. Peggy was the proud mother of three children: Leslie Marie Baer, Scott Clifford Fenn, and Angela Williams. She also embraced her role as stepmother to Renee Dial and Dirk Fenn, extending her warmth and generosity to them as her own. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren—Courtney Baer, Stephanie Renee Fenn, and Jason Chamberlain—and her step-grandchildren—April Dial, Amy Dial, Winter Fenn, Joshua Fenn, and Jordan Fenn. Peggy was also blessed to welcome a great-grandson, Chase Miller, into the family, bringing her immense joy.

Peggy’s siblings were central to her life. She is survived by her brother, Bobby Dean (Mary Ann) Hutchinson, and her sisters, Louise Hutchinson, Frances (Bruce) Newman, Marie Hinson, and Sandra Stephens. Living close to her sisters, Peggy shared an extraordinary bond of love and friendship with them. Their daily acts of care and support for one another were a testament to the strength of family ties. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended relatives who will remember her kindness and generosity.

Peggy was remembered not only for her giving spirit but also for the simple joys that defined her life. She loved to fish, a pastime that brought her peace and delight in earlier years. Though age eventually kept her from casting a line, she never lost her fondness for the tradition. When Peggy cooked the fish she caught, family and friends marveled at her skill—there were never any bones left in the meal, only the flavor of her care and attention. She also cherished family reunions, where laughter, stories, and togetherness filled her heart. Most of all, Peggy loved and knew Jesus, and her faith was a steady source of strength and comfort throughout her life.

Those who knew Peggy describe her as a most giving person, always willing to lend a hand or offer encouragement. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she found joy in being present for them in both ordinary and extraordinary ways. Peggy’s sudden passing has left a deep void in the hearts of her loved ones and friends, who will forever cherish her memory and the countless ways she touched their lives.

Peggy Fenn will be remembered not only for her devotion to family but also for her spirit of generosity, her steadfast love, and her ability to make others feel cared for. Her legacy of compassion and faith will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing her.

The tribute above was prepared with love by her daughter, Leslie Marie Baer, her sister, Marie Hinson and with help from her niece, Tammy Newman.

A Celebration of Peggy’s Life will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at the home of Peggy’s niece, Farrah Hinson Lewis. Address is: 1374 W. Madison Street Starke, FL 32091. For directions or more information, please call (352) 745-1294.
