Aunt Peggy was not only my dear aunt but also my Godmother. I remember her beautiful smile and especially with Uncle Dan. They made such a wonderful couple. They were always full of life and laughter. I miss them both so much. They were always up for the next adventure in life. I remember visiting them in Florida before we moved here, having such a wonderful time with both of them. Exploring and spending hours at the local flea market , I bought so much that Uncle Dan had to make me a special container to get it all home on the plane! Such wonderful childhood memories with them too. Many 4th Of July cookouts and other holidays at their house in Peabody. Many camping trips together also.

May they both rest in peace together forever. Love them and miss them both dearly.

We were so sorry to hear of the passing of your dear Mom, who was Aunt Peggy to us. She had the most infectious smile just like your Dad. Together they made a beautiful couple. They would certainly light up every room they entered. I always admired their adventurous spirit. In fact, I've alway tried to incorporate some of their adventurous spirit into my own life. Aunt Peggy and Uncle Dan were never afraid to take chances and explore new places and things. They always lived life to the fullest. I have so many wonderful memories with them as I was growing up. Our families were very close, especially when we all lived in Peabody. Some of my great and happy memories were from spending birthday and Christmas parties together, or the many backyard cookouts and camping trips. None of us had much money, but it never seemed to be important or matter. We just loved being together as a family. That's what life was all about and what was really important to us. We shared meals, fun and always lots of laughter. We are now all grown and have been blessed with families of our own. Our Grandparents as well as most of our beloved parents are now gone, but hopefully, they are all looking down from Heaven and admiring the beautiful legacy they left here on earth.
May you forever Rest in Peace my dear Godmother Peggy.
Love,
Donna & Paul

I will always remember Aunt Peggy’s beautiful smile and infectious laugh! I have so many wonderful childhood memories with Aunt Peggy, Uncle Danny and all of you guys. We had the best Christmas parties, camping trips, and weekend get togethers playing pokeno. My favorite part of coming to your house was your mom’s delicious chocolate sheet cake. I was always so excited when she made that! I think of all of you, and all the great times we had every time we drive by your childhood home on Lynnfield Street.

My heart aches for all of you, and I hope that all your precious memories can help you at this difficult time. You are all in our thought and prayers.

Love,
Marianne, Joe, Caitlin and Joseph

My Mom was my HERO. Growing up in Kansas she was voted Prom Queen, she was so pretty with her laughter and bright smile. She was truly beautiful inside and out. She was a waitress at a Diner when her and my dad met, and after he first saw her, he wouldn’t leave her alone. Grandpa tried to keep an eye on him .....luckily they married.

Dad moved her to Massachusetts. She was stronger than she appeared. Do you know she lost her first baby at 6 months---- how sad is that? But she was resilient and strong, and before you know it, we became a family of 7 living in a big house in Peabody.

Sometimes we were Brats but I won’t point to David. She would say to him “Just wait til your father gets home.” You all know her as constantly smiling and laughing, but when all of us were teenagers, she never let us see her smile. She didn’t want to let her guard down.

She did get a break from all of us when she started waitressing Friday nights. She always loved going to work (her mini vacation from chaos). Dad was embarrassed at that time because women were not supposed to work, but when she would get home at night, they would happily count her tips. They made it work..

When Mom and Dad retired to Florida, they had many adventures; one at the Grand Canyon in a small pop up camper. They were regulars up and down the beach coast. Mom did complain about Dad disappearing and she found him near the female in a thong selling hot dogs….

When Dad passed away, we were worried that She lived alone, but she soon became active in the community,. She joined groups and made more friends. She would visit and shop for her sick neighbor, sometimes stopping in for a chat. The ladies at the nail salon loved her and called her “Mom” when she arrived.

We all spent time visiting them in Clearwater. They made it the best vacation ever. Always the perfect host and hostess. We went to St Pete for a parade which is where our favorite picture of Dad came from. Beads covered his forehead…..Then they discovered gambling and Mom found excitement at the No Name gambling places. Her friends would pick her up and off they go. She always won. So she said.

One day she called me on the phone upset “do you know the cops closed down my gambling?! I told them we weren’t causing any trouble!!. She argued with a cop! . Age gave her power.

Whenever we asked her “where are my shoes? she simply said “I didn’t wear them” We stopped asking.

This Pandemic has been hard on everyone. Mom always laughed so happy to hear our voices. on the phone calls. Later she would say “Why don’t you come and visit me?” . That was hard on us. We wanted so much to hug her and say everything will be alright. Sometimes we would sing together “You are my Sunshine” gradually she forgot the words. Later she would just end our calls when dinner came with I’ve got to go. Click. We laughed until she stopped eating.

We got to see her one last time which meant everything. She wasn’t alone when she died, I feel thankful for that.

Lets Celebrate Mom’s life by focusing on the good memories she gave us. Share them with her great grandchildren who did not get as many opportunities to see her love and humor.

Let’s send Peggy Lou to meet her loving husband Danny and her baby Danny. That thought makes me smile.

Until We Meet Again

Those special memories of you will always bring a smile,
If only we could have you back,
for just a little while.
Then we could sit and talk again,
just like we used to do,
You always meant so very much,
and always will too.
The fact that you’re no longer here will always cause us pain,
But you’re forever in our heart,
until we meet again.
💚

Bev and I were sorry and sad to hear about your mom (Aunt Peggy). Aunt Peggy was a great person and I always remember the great times we had together growing up. I can remember coming to the house and smelling fresh bread being made by aunt Peggy and could not wait to have some! We had so many great times together as cousins and it is all those times we must remember. Love to All,
Tom and Bev Barrett - Buckeye Arizona
Dear Dianna, David, Jean, Nancy, Ron, Theresa, Bill and families,
Charlie and I were saddened to hear of the passing away of your beautiful mother. Peggy will always hold a very special place in our hearts and for all who were fortunate to know her. Your mom and dad were a very special couple who always had an infectious smile and laugh.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

I had a business trip which took me to Boston. Secretly, with her kids, we planned a special surprise. Mom and Gram came with me! I remember getting off the plane and going down the escalator where Peggy and Danny were eagerly waiting for me. They were so happy to see me. Mom and Gram were way behind me. Peggy and Danny only had eyes for me🥰. That is, until Mom and Gram came into their view😁. There was much laughing and crying! It’s the best surprise I ever pulled off! Peggy was so happy 😁.
I have many more wonderful and fun memories with them. There was the time Ron and I had to attend a business dinner in Tampa. Peggy was working so Danny kept Ang and Val. Danny’s idea of babysitting was taking them to the Dog track🤣. The girls picked the dogs and Danny placed the bets😂.
Danny always said that he knew when I called because Peggy and I were sooo loud on the phone. We would both be talking at once and laughing. And, yes, maybe we were too loud, but, we couldn’t help ourselves🥴
I never saw Danny or Peggy that they didn’t say, Oh, Marc, you look so good! It didn’t matter how I looked. They were just genuinely happy to be with me and I felt exactly the same way😍
Mom died way too young. Peggy became my surrogate mother❤️ I always felt closer to Mom when I was with Peggy❤️ She always said she felt closer to mom too when I was around. Yes, she was my aunt, but, she was also one of my very favorite people on the planet and a friend in the truest sense of the word. When I was happy, she was happy for me. When I was sad, she was sad with me. But, mostly, we just had Fun☺️ We enjoyed each other’s company and just being together. Wherever we were felt like Home to me🥰. Whenever I visited her, we talked and laughed until way too late. We would both be so exhausted, but, didn’t want the evening to end🥰
The memories are flooding my mind and heart. My dear Peggy, you were the whole package And I love you so much......❤️❤️❤️
