Paula's obituary

Paula Arnett Moore, 70, of Salisbury, NC, entered into the loving arms of her Savior on November 11th, 2025 after a valiant battle with cancer.

Paula was born on February 28th, 1955 to Harold & Jessie Arnett in Hagans, WV. After graduating from Morgantown High School in 1973, she went on to pursue her Bachelor's Degree in Speech Pathology at the University of West Virginia.

In 1974 Paula met Donald Moore of Fairmont, WV through a friendship between Don's parents and Paula's older sister Sandy and her husband Kenny. Once Paula and Don were introduced, they began dating shortly thereafter, and wedding plans were discussed a few years later. Paula graduated from West Virginia in May of 1977 and was then married to Don on May 21st, 1977.

In July 1977 Paula and Don moved to Phoenix, AZ where she took her first job as a speech pathologist. Paula was passionate about helping others to improve their speech through her work. Her passion quickly shifted from her career to a new passion of raising a family with Don. Paula and Don began attending a local church there in Arizona and Paula trusted in Christ as her personal Savior in 1980. From there she grew in her relationship with Jesus Christ through various churches and Bible studies throughout her adult life. Paula and Don spent 48 years of marriage together exploring all different parts of the country together through various employment opportunities. Paula and Don lived in 9 unique states together, and enjoyed many lifelong friendships and church families throughout each of their many moves.

Paula and Don had two children: Brenton and Cassie. Family was incredibly important to Paula and over the years trips to see or vacation with extended and immediate family were a regular part of the annual calendar planning. She was a dedicated mother and wife who effortlessly balanced her church, home, and work life. Paula was always willing to help with the kids school events, sports, clubs, and other various activities.

Paula and Don had a passion of exploring new places by travelling with their children on many different family trips, trips just as a couple, and trips with friends and extended family. That passion for travelling and site seeing only increased when Paula and Don fully retired in 2014 and began traveling around the world, a lifelong dream for both of them.

Paula was predeceased by her parents, Harold & Jessie Arnett, sisters Wanda Clark and Loretta Davis, and all of her brother-in-laws. She is survived by her husband Don, her sisters Glenda, Bonita, and Sandy; her son Brenton and wife Rachel, her daughter Cassie and husband Tim; her step daughter Linda; grandchildren, step grandchildren, and her step great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, December 13th from 1:00 - 4:00pm at Stonebridge Baptist Church located at 6510 Mall Rd, Morgantown, WV 26501.
