I needed a haircut before my wedding and I did not know a good hairstylist. So, one evening close to the ceremony, I asked Paula to cut my hair and she did a great job. Years later, she also babysat Keith when I had to do grocery shopping, and let Keith play with her dogs. Thanks to her, they did not mind having their tails pulled by 1 year old Keith.

Brian and I remember one memorable New Year's Eve beginning 1989: I was recently divorced. Brian and Paula visited my girl friend, Regine, and me for the holidays. Regine always wants to party on New Year's Eve. That year, she got her way and Paula, Brian, Regine and I attended a party. At the party Brian remembers my spilling a drink on Paula, then Paula pouring hers in my lap, and the look of shock on my face. I remember that I was unsettled by the divorce. Paula stared at me and said "Marry the girl, you know she loves you." I then, and there, decided to risk marrying again. That was the right thing to do, as we have been married 32 years so far.

Mom always said I was her "Why" baby and her favorite story to tell people was about the day when at five years old, I kept asking her why all day when ever she would tell me something. After a time of this she finally stopped, turned to me and said "Why? Because I'm the boss." and she said I put my little fist on my hips looked up at her and said "I'm going to be the boss today!" She said she knew right then I was going to be a hand full .

Although I only met her once, she will remain in my heart forever. She was a sweet lady that loved her daughter deeply. She was so kind and offered to be my surrogate mom as my mother passed 8 years ago. She was so excited for one of her favorites, a chocolate iced donut!! Her love for cats was passed down to her daughter as they both love and spoil their babies. She loved her tv cop dramas. She didn’t care for veggies, but tried them when Melissa snuck them in her food! The bond between Melissa and her mom was admirable. Melissa took great care of her mother including her great looking “inverted Bob” haircut and style, which
Melissa did a great job with. Miss Paula, you will be missed.❤️
