Paul's obituary
Paul was born on 16th November 1944 in Hanover, PA, the only child of Melvin M. and Geraldine A. (née Mummert) Wildasin. After graduating from Schenck High School in East Millinocket, ME he attended the University of Maine at Orono, graduating in 1966 with a B.S. in Plant and Soil Sciences. He started his working career in Indianapolis, IN as a produce inspector for the railroad. In 1976 he received a M. Div. from the Episcopal Theological Seminary in Lexington, KY. He then returned to Vermont, where he lived for the remainder of his life. He owned The Woodstock Florist where his design talents were displayed with fresh and dried flowers at numerous events. For many years one could be greeted at a Woodstock institution, Bentley’s, by Paul’s welcoming smile.He served as a licensed Lay Minister with St. James Episcopal Church, Woodstock. He retired in 2020 after 15 years as an elected Lister (assessor) for the Town of Woodstock. His cherished dog, Cocoa, was his constant companion. Paul was proud of his Southwestern German (Palatinate) heritage tracing back to the 1690s.
Paul is survived by his children Mary-Alice Wildasin and partner John Mulqueen of Kilrush, County Clare, Ireland, Thaddeus P. Wildasin of Woodstock, Tabitha E. Monfette and husband John of Quechee; three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one aunt and many cousins. He is predeceased by his parents and step son.
A memorial service will be held at St. James Episcopal Church in Woodstock on Wednesday, 4th August 2021 at 2:00pm.
