Got a little reminder from EverLoved about the anniversary of Paul's passing.  Paul was big influence on Arleen's grandkids, especially our son, Roby.  I never forget the day, we were at the beach in Galveston with Arleen and Paul.  Would have been 2007, the summer, Roby was not walking.  The little guy was determined to get a handful of sand into his mouth.   His mom and I kept slapping the sand out of his hand - but he was determined and kept trying - sneaky - determined.  Paul was quietly observing all this.  After the nth attempt  by Roby, Paul said to mum and I, 'go ahead, let him...it'll be the last time he tries'.  Classic Paul advise.  Love that man.  Roby got a D1 scholarship to play soccer at Drake University in Iowa.   A bit of Paul rubbed off on Roby - he has a bit of the earthy Paul Reese in him.   Just one of the many good memories we have with Paul.  RIP my friend.

Paul would be happy to know Arleen's grandson Roby. on whom, he was a big influence over a very long time, committed last week to play Division 1 Soccer at Drake University on academic and athletic scholarship.   The home of Paul and Arleen in Middleton was a special place for Roby.  A bit of Paul lives on in him, the grit, the ingenuity, the adventurous spirit and old school thinking.  We are eternally grateful.

I'm sorry to hear of Paul's passing but  comforted to know he's now free. We had many good times together at his house on Wildlife Tr. (and then Black Earth condo), watching Badger basketball games.  All of us at S.A.S. miss his quick wit, his enthusiasm and mostly his presence.  Rest in peace, Paul.

Arleen's son, Peter.  Paul was mom's grumpy angel.  He lifted her up.  Sports, music, crosswords and travel, by car of course, were their passions.  They did a lot of SASy adventures together.  We always remember our safe haven in the outskirts of Middleton at their wooded lodge.   Many great memories.  May he rest in peace.

So sorry for your loss.

I remember going to that triple bump park! Where Raymond learned how to fly!

Paul was extremely engaged in making sure his children maximized their opportunities for education.  Pushed all of them and the results were impressive.  Four successful Badgers and I suspect their children will carry that forward.  God bless you all as you celebrate his life well lived. Thanks for sharing, Sheila.
Such a gracious, sweet man!  Sorry for you and all your siblings’ loss.  May you find peace and comfort in the coming days.  Cherish the memories.  Barbara and McNeil
I will always remember Paul for his never-ending sense of adventure. From the incredible story of him riding cross country, on horseback, to get home from the West Coast, to watching him click into skis when he was either 80, or very close to it. And of course the Segway races in San Fransisco! Paul was up for almost anything, and he had some amazing stories to tell. My thoughts are with you. Sending love
