Paul's obituary

Paul Charles Miller, born Paul Charles Nordmeier, in Minneapolis Minnesota, to Charles and Patricia, Paul passed unexpectedly, at age 58, in his home located in Soldotna Alaska on June 3, 2022

Paul was a career electrician, for nearly 4 decades, and worked various odd jobs to make ends meet for his family. He spent his life caring and providing for his three daughters, and grandchildren. As a dad his love extended to caring for his many pets, Blue (a German Shorthaired Pointer), Prince (an orange tabby cat), Chase (a red nosed pit bull), and Duke (a pug). He would take them all on many adventures, because those pups were always in tow and riding shotgun in his pickup. So much, that employees of local coffee shops in Soldotna knew him, his pups, and his truck very well. Paul ultimately laid all his pets to rest by spreading their ashes at Skilak Lake, their favorite stomping grounds.

His love and compassion did not end there... Paul provided much love and support to those he knew and to his community. Those fortunate to cross his path in a time of need, or in crisis, received his kindness, words of wisdom, guidance, and possibly the shirt off his back or the food in his fridge to get back on their feet. Paul believed in acts of service for mankind and the concept of paying it forward.

Paul also provided support to his community in many ways. An example would be when he provided assistance during the Skilak fire on the Kenai Peninsula. He transported donated food and water from local establishments to the first responders in the field fighting the fires.

Paul enjoyed connecting with nature by often visiting Skilak Lake for boating and camping trips. He also enjoyed learning about the human body, and specifically our physical and spiritual energies.

Paul loved playing pool and bowling and played on several leagues throughout his years. Paul was also Anchorage’s pinball wizard champion in 1996.

Paul was preceded in death by his Father, Charles Huxley Nordmeier of Minnesota.
