We are thinking about you with full hearts of love!  The recent storms have taken the pier to the Palo Alto cement ship and it's changed the view to the Monterey Bay from the cottage!  But no bother .. it's still the little piece of paradise it always has been.  Sure do miss and love you, forever.   Keep going and be joy, joy, joy! -mb
We miss and love you Paul.

Harvey wrote to Paul's friends and here are some of their responses:

I heard from Dick Hirsch that Paul passed away last week. He has been in very poor health for many, many years. He had two strokes last December and never really recovered. Paul was a great guy. I will miss him.

Nancy (Zimmerman) Hablutzel: Very sad, indeed. THANKS for updating us, Harvey.

Joel Henning: Very sad to hear.

Larry Sloss: Thanks for passing the word, albeit sad.

Dick Eckhouse: I remember us all getting together to play cards instead of dating. Goodness that was such a long time ago. How can we be that old! Thanks Harvey.

Steve Gudeman: Pokers and Seven card stud, it was. Sorry to hear the news about Paul.

Don Spero: Very sorry to hear, but thanks, Harvey, for sending.
With many of you I well recall the card games, mostly focused on bridge with poker to wrap up, often at Steve Shamberg’s; anybody know about him?

Paul and I were very close at New Trier. He had a car and gave me rides to school. We, with Dave E and Harvey, played clarinet in Sam Mages’ band. Paul and I were tennis doubles partners, ended up at Cornell (as did Dick E), but neither Paul nor I made the tennis team. We were in ZBT together, where his focus became bridge while mine turned to crew. We kept in touch sporadically over the years. I hadn’t spoken with Paul for at least a year, but he said then that his health was poor; being an MD he knew exactly what was happening to him.

I have intense and fond memories of growing up with Paul and will miss him.

Steve Shamberg: Thanks for the email. Paul and I spent a lot of time together in high school and college summers. We went to Europe together after college. I was shocked to see him at your home 5 or 6 years ago. I will miss him too.
From Harvey Plonsker: Paul was a wonderful person. I will miss him.

I first met Paul in grade school. He was part of the “West Hubbard Woods” group that included Dick Hirsch, Harry Spertus, Mike Pyle, Joyce Kessert, and Judy Glaser. We remained friends all our lives. We would exchange telephone calls on our birthdays -- only one week apart. When I talked to Paul, it was always a nourishing experience.

Madeleine and I visited with Paul in San Francisco in September 2015. A photo of Paul and Madeleine is attached.

The last years of his life were difficult health-wise, to say the least. I felt very bad for him that he had to endure such pain and suffering. Now, he is at peace.
Paul is forever in our hearts. Thank you for being a wonderful husband, Dad to 5 beautiful girls and a delightful world travel companion .. in addition to raising your daughters to be world citizens. We love & miss you. We will all be together again!
