Paul's obituary

Montgomery County,

Mr. Paul B. Jones, age 91, went to be with his Lord and Savior, on Friday, March 27, 2015 in Morningside Assisted Living of Evans in Evans, Georgia, after an extended illness.  He was born Paul Blondell Hinson in Chester Georgia, to the late Stella and Jim Hinson of Dodge County.  After the death of his mother, he was adopted at six months of age by his late parents, Owen and Ophelia Jones.  He grew up in Uvalda and Macon, and married the love of his life, Wilma.  He moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 1942.  He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1943 and honorably served his country during World War II.  He was in the Philippians and Guam and was discharged in 1946. He returned to Jacksonville, and lived there until 1994.  He retired from U.S. Gypsum in Jacksonville after thirty-nine years.  He was a charter member and Deacon of the Faith Baptist Church in Jacksonville, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vidalia.   He and his wife moved back to the “home place” in 1994, and lived there until they moved to Summer’s Landing in Vidalia in 2009.  He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of seventy-two years, Wilma Galbreath Jones, a son, Kenneth Paul Jones; four brothers, Wilton, Mallory, and Fulton, Willard Hinson; and sister, Wyolene.

Mr. Jones is survived by one grandson, Keith Hinson Jones of Cape Coral, Florida; one brother-in-law, William T. Galbreath, and several beloved nieces and nephews and a multitude of faithful friends. 

The funeral service will held Sunday, March 29th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Murray Ward and Reverend Don Moye officiating.  Burial will follow in the Galbreath Cemetery near Alston.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 until just prior to the service.
