Paul Mathieu Gaudet, September 17, 1941 - June 13, 2020. Paul was raised in the Willimansett section of Chicopee, MA, son of the late Ernest Jean Prosper and Cosette Laurette (Giroux) Gaudet. He was a graduate from Mount Carmel Elementary, Precious Blood and Cathedral High School in Springfield. He served our country in the United States Army & USAR. In 1964, he married Louise Marie (Lamontagne) and they had four daughters that he often referred to as his greatest accomplishments. He raised his family in Ashby, MA and moved to various states throughout his career. His final years were spent in FL, where he ultimately retired in Zephyrhills in 2006. Paul loved to golf, entertain family and friends, enjoyed a good joke, and often flocked to good times. His four daughters live on to share his humor, sarcasm and love; Michele Gaudet-Smith and Chuck of Pepperell, MA, Michaelene Koskela and Bruce, of Nashua, NH, Nicole Foster and Donald of Rye, NH, and Tonya Benstock and Peter of Tampa, FL. Step children Marcie Whitlock-Hilverding of Parkersburg, WV and Bryan Whitlock of Phoenix, AZ. His four grandchildren Marissa & Carson Smith, Bryce Foster and Brooke Koskela provided him great joy. He leaves behind his sisters, Sister Diane Gaudet, SSJ of Holyoke MA and Marie Lefebvre of Bedford, TX, sisters-in-law Judy Gaudet of Colorado Springs, CO and Rita Gaudet of Chicopee, MA, as well as, many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Special thanks to the care and friendships he established during his years at Gandy Crossing, Tampa, FL. Paul was predeceased by his brothers, Roger, Pierre, Marcel and his sister, Jacqueline Pelchar. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Sisters of Saint Joseph, 577 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
