Paul's obituary

**In Loving Memory of Our Beloved Daddy**

Our cherished Paul Joseph Dwyer [95], beloved father, Navy Veteran, and treasured resident of Lake Fairways in North Fort Myers, FL, for the past twenty-eight years, formerly of Wilmington, DE, passed away from this world peacefully on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, in N. Fort Myers. He was born January 14, 1930, at Wilmington General Hospital Association in Wilmington, Delaware. He attended Salesianium High School and then joined the United States Navy, instilling a sense of belonging and pride.

Paul lived a life dedicated to his family, friends, and those in need, and he was accustomed to a broad range of hobbies and activities spanning many phases of his life. He was a known member of the Kennett Square Country Club and the Knights of Columbus. Between assuming control of Dwyer's Auto Service from his father, working with the PWB train line, and even living on the farm, he always had a love for aviation. This continued after his time in the Navy Air Force Squad, as he became a pilot. He went into Trade School through the Navy for automobile repair. After retiring from the third shift at Chrysler, Paul embraced a vibrant life in North Fort Myers, Florida. There, as an avid golfer, handyman, gate security man, and frequent traveler, he achieved above and beyond normal. He loved both determination in physical work and relaxation through music, especially Irish Music such as The Black Velvet Band.

Born with a heart as generous as his spirit, Paul was always ready to lend a helping hand, the greatest friend one could hope for. He socialized and captivated audiences through performances in chorales and a Barbershop Quartet, and he brought joy and happiness to all who met him. He was particularly devoted to his wife, whose passing just five months prior left an indelible mark on his heart. He will be remembered for his kindness, his love, and the beautiful way he enriched the lives of others.

Paul's life was a testament to love and compassion, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Through Paul's unwavering, kind and loving nature, he had strong relationships with his friends and each of his children. He deeply loved his family, and he was supportive and empowering to everyone he knew. Paul is survived by his children, Patricia Pietuszka of N. Ft. Myers, Karen Pinion of N. Ft. Myers, and Anne Cochran (Stephen) of Elkton, MD; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and countless friends and extended family members who were touched by him.

Paul was preceded in death by his wife Jean Dwyer, sisters Dolores O'Connor and Joanne Dwyer, son Joseph Dwyer, and grandson Christopher Frame.

He taught us how to love deeply, care graciously, act selflessly, and live fully. We find comfort in imagining him up there dancing with Nanny now—just like old times; to feel even just a piece of the light he brought into this world. To the moon Granddaddy! Love you!!

We invite family and friends to join us in celebrating Paul's extraordinary life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. John the Beloved Council #11796 Knights of Columbus 907 Milltown Road Wilmington, DE 19808 in honor of his dedication and loving heart.

Anchors Aweigh from the greatest Navy on Earth and rest in peace, our Beloved Paul, as you've set sail on this final voyage towards eternal peace and the loving embrace of your beloved wife, you will be forever missed, never forgotten, and always cherished.
