Paul's obituary
Paul Euclide Dolbec, age 77, of Lincoln, Delaware, passed away on November 15, 2024, from complications of lung cancer. After being diagnosed with lung cancer in 2015, He continued to live a full, active life up until a very few weeks at the very end.
Paul, born January 1947 in Rochester, New Hampshire, was the son and only child of Euclide Leo Dolbec of Rochester New Hampshire and Jeanne Lillian Roy Dolbec of Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
After graduating from Holy Rosary High School in Rochester, New Hampshire in 1965, he went on to New Hampshire College of Accounting and Commerce (Now Southern New Hampshire University), graduating in 1969 with a Bachelor degree in Business Science.
In 1970, at 23, Paul joined the Air National Guard where he served until honorably discharged in 1981.
Paul and Irene Rivard married in 1970. All three children from that marriage, Eric David Dolbec, Jessica Ann Dolbec and Nicole Marie Dolbec Neboshynsky survive their father. He is also survived by his son-in-law, Nicholas Neboshynsky, and two grandsons, Aiden Neboshynsky and Gavin Neboshynsky.
Elyse Coleman Dolbec, who married Paul in 1999, also survives him.
Throughout his distinguished career, he held leadership roles in IT and the insurance sectors, working with prominent organizations including Ford Motor Company, Unum Insurance, Sun Microsystems, Microsoft, and Oracle. Known for his sharp problem-solving skills and team-building expertise, Paul excelled in operations management, consulting, sales, and IT development. He was respected for his dedication to excellence and his enthusiasm for achieving meaningful results.
Paul loved the outdoors. He began playing sports at a very young age and excelled at multiple varsity sports. Continuing to play Tennis for many years. He later turned his passion for sports towards coaching his kids and their youth sports teams. He loved baseball and played while serving in the Air National Guard and continued to be an avid MLB fan rooting for the Red Sox and Orioles.
The sport he was most passionate about was fishing, fly fishing. As a young man, a neighbor introduced him to fly fishing and fly tying. He took that passion and made friends, traveled to beautiful places, and taught others his talents. His specialty was in the art of Spey (two-handed) casting and Atlantic Salmon flies. Paul is a former instructor with the L.L. Bean Fly Fishing Schools, on the BoD of the Catskill Fly Tyers Guild, and Treasurer of the Chesapeake Chapter of the Fly FIshers International. Paul also held Master Fly Caster certification and for many years demonstrated fly tying and casting at major fly fishing venues along the east coast.
Wherever he went, Paul was energetic, outgoing, and loved humor. Those attributes were so much a part of him that he did not even realize how much of an impact made; but people always remembered him; and smiled when they saw him coming.
Paul’s passion, engagement and love of people carried over into the relationships he formed with his church family at Hope Bible Church. He loved studying God’s Word
and was blessed to be mentored in his study by his pastor and fellow church members. He also used his business and computer skills to support various administrative functions of the church.
A Memorial Service will be held on January 11, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Hope Bible Church, Seaford, DE. Any attending who wishes to will have an opportunity to speak. Finger food and visiting to follow in the church hall. Please RSVP for planning purposes if you plan to attend.
