Paul's obituary
Originally from Whaleyville, Md., he was born to the late Charles W. Davis and Orrie E. Fooks. He was preceded in death by his stepfather Littleton D. Fooks and his first wife Shirley, mother of his three children.
Dean graduated from Buckingham High School in Berlin, Md. From there he proudly served his country in the Vietnam War for the United States Army. He wore many career hats and was a very talented person in so many ways. He was a hard worker and excelled in every path he pursued, in construction and building, sporting goods, retail, antiquing and the car industry.
He had many passions throughout his life. He loved baseball and coached many years at the Salisbury Little League and Pony League and was fondly remembered as “Coach”. He also loved working on cars, buying and selling them. And then later collecting and dealing antiques. He was a long time member of the Kiwanis and Lions Club and also a very active member on the board for the Friends of Poplar Hill Mansion and 3rd Friday in Salisbury.
Dean was a very devoted husband and father; to him, family was everything. Left to cherish his memories are his wife Aleta Davis, his children, Cynthia Davis, Paul Davis Jr., Sandra Perry; and Colleen Nichols whom he thought of and treated as his own, 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother Charles H. Davis and his many nieces and nephews.
Dean was an inspiration in life and in death who made everyone he touched a much richer person. We will remember his story telling fondly, his love for life, his spunk and mischievous personality, warmth and compassion, hard work and dedication to his family, his love for animals, his humor and generosity and always having a smiling positive attitude. He was the definition of a “gentle”man.
We will forever love and miss him dearly.
Dean’s loving and generous spirit will continue to touch lives as it was his desire to donate his body, the most precious gift anyone can give, to hopefully help save others.
We will be having a celebration of life and invite and welcome you to join us from 12:00 - 2:00 PM on December 18, 2019 at Roadie Joe’s Restaurant in Salisbury, MD 21801.
