Paul's obituary
Paul Bugnacki, 73, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, in Lakeland, Florida surrounded by family and friends.
Born on April 3, 1952, in Meriden, Connecticut, Paul was the fifth of seven sons of Joseph and Antonina Bugnacki. He began his working life in construction before finding his long–term career at Tuffak—later Rohm Haas—where he advanced from the night shift in the Production Department to become a Safety Consultant.
Music was Paul’s lifelong passion. A talented guitarist, he played in several bands throughout his life, starting even before he was old enough to perform in bars. At that time, he played with his first band AXIS in southern Florida. While living in Connecticut, he played with Fountain Head, along with several other bands. Most recently, he enjoyed performing with his band, The Rogues, delighting audiences at annual Valentine’s and Halloween events.
He was a friend of Bill W. for over 40 years. Paul was an inspiration to many, and he touched countless lives and offered hope and guidance to those on their own journeys. Paul often dedicated his time to volunteering at a hospice center and offered comfort and companionship to patients and their families during difficult times. He also served as a compassionate voice on a telephone help line, providing support and hope to individuals in crisis. His selflessness and empathy left a lasting impact on everyone he helped.
Paul is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Charlene; his brothers Charles (Bernadette), John (Laurie), and Philip (Kendall); his sister-in-law Elizabeth and many beloved “special” nieces and nephews. Damon (nephew), who lived with Paul and Charlene for many years, held Paul in his heart as a strong father figure. He was predeceased by his parents and brothers Peter, Michael, and Theodore.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his kindness, strength, and the joy he brought to those around him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on December 7, 2025, at The Colonnades Clubhouse in Lakeland, from 1:00 to 4:00pm. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring Paul’s remarkable life.
