I was introduced to Pat by our mutual friend Ann Tsugawa, since I was single and he was newly single. I don’t remember who suggested it but we took a trip to Oahu, which was my first time. Besides the usual touristy sights, Pat wanted to visit a family friend, a judge on the island. The judge, his wife and Pat enjoyed a round of golf at Hawaii Kai G.C. (see photos)
Another memorable event was when we carpooled to a singles event, where Pat met Jennifer. I didn’t see much of him that night. On our drive home, Pat told me that he found someone; her name is Jennifer. I saw very little of Pat thereafter.

Pat Wong’s gentle kindness and humor will be greatly missed. I had the opportunity of working with him at Rio San Gabriel Elementary School. When I subbed there, he always had a calming word or smile for me and was a great source of help. He also worked with my son, Ryan, for baskets in a minute during Carnival of Champions. He was a great guy. Our hugs and prayers go out to his family.

Very Sorry for your loss. Pat will always be remembered as a favorite cousin I grew up with throughout the many years of family gatherings.

Many condolences to the Wong family. I have many fond memories of Coach Pat on the basketball court. He was always very supportive of the team and present throughout the years. I remember him getting very excited about a spin move I made during a tournament game one time. I still remember his excitement and that moment to this day - despite the game taking place probably over 15 years ago. He has made a great impact on my life and many others.

Mr. Wong was the best teacher that I ever had (5th grade, 1984, Rio San Gabriel). He taught me how to sew and encouraged me to excel in math. He was also one of the kindest teachers I ever knew, and I looked forward to class every day. Mr. Wong was also the only Asian teacher that I ever had before college. This was so meaningful to me to see someone who looked like me, teaching a class in my school. Being one of only two or three Asian kids in my entire school, this really meant a great deal to me, and left a lifelong impression. The world has lost a good person.

My condolences to Pat's family. We first met Pat through Wintersburg’s Seyo basketball team. Pat was our daughter’s coach. He was a funny guy, a great cook, and a loving father and husband. We would often talk after basketball practices and church activities. We talked about funny things and serious things in life. He once showed David how to cook a delicious juicy chicken fillet with ginger. Pat was very down to earth, patient and loving. He loved God and served as a deacon for many years. We are missing a great, true and wonderful friend.
