Pat's obituary
Patrick Joseph McVenes, age 64, of Mankato passed away peacefully on April 14, 2023, surrounded by family.
Pat was born on March 16, 1959, to Donald and Theresa (Korpal) McVenes in Mankato, MN. He married Gina Reichel on August 12, 2020 in Sturgis, SD. Pat worked at Ameristar as a machinist and would help friends and family with odd jobs whenever asked.
Pat was an avid motorcycle rider who looked forward to hitting the highway and working on his Harley was one of his true passions. He enjoyed ice fishing, gardening, and cheering on his favorite football team. You would often find Pat spending time in his garage fixing anything he could get his hands on. He loved spending time with his wife and daughters. You would often find Pat hanging outside with his fur babies Rocket, Harley, Cray, and Nash.
Pat never met a stranger. He had a heart of gold and he was one of the most selfless giving people you would ever meet. He was always thinking of others and making sure everyone was ok and doing what he could help. From fixing vehicles to plowing snow, he gave most of his time to helping others. One of his greatest joys and accomplishments was his daughters, Angie, Katie, and Jenna, who he loved spending time with and bragging about.
Pat is survived by his wife Regina Reichel of Mankato, daughters, Angie McVenes of Eagle Lake, Katie (Jack) Jacobsen of N. Mankato, and Jenna Jewison of Mapleton; Step daughters Leah (Nick) Macgregor of N. Mankato and Payton Engelen of Nebraska; and 3 granddaughters - Aria, Emerie, and Jayde.
6 brothers, Tom (Colleen) McVenes of Bradenton, FL, Duane (Nancy) McVenes of Mankato, Ben (Sue) McVenes of Mankato, Steve McVenes and partner Beth of Lake Mill, IA, David McVenes of Mankato, and Robin McVenes of Faribault.
4 sisters, Linda Mason of N. Mankato, Donna (Andy) Kramer of Prescott, WI, Sue (Steve) Wasinger of Garden City, and Deanna (Mark) Wilson of Logan, IA.
2 aunts, Lanore Domeyer and Karen (Swede) Wimmer, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.
Pat is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, great-niece, and nephew.
A Celebration of Life will beheld on Saturday May 20, 2023, starting at noon at the Morison Ario VFW Club in Mankato, MN.
