Patrick James McNicholas, of Plainfield Illinois, passed away January 7, 2023, at the age of 53.

Patrick was born February 7, 1969 (The Original Irish Prince) to James P McNicholas Jr and Barbara Ann (nee Schultz) in Chicago Illinois and raised in Villa Park Illinois.  Alumni of St Alexanders (1983) and Willowbrook High School (1987) of Villa Park. Patrick took his first trip to Ireland with Family right after his High School Graduation. Upon his return he went out and started his career in the construction field. He combined his love for travel and adventure into his work. Patrick worked in London, Minnesota, South Dakota, Colorado and then ended back in Chicago with Iron Workers Local 1. Patrick was a Proud Irish/German American and Proud Member of Bad River Band of the Lake Superior Tribe of Chippewa Indians. 

Patrick would tell you one of his best moments in his life was becoming a Father to both James and Michael, true Irish Twins. Patrick would light up when talking of his Boys and what they were involved in at that time.

Patrick was a lover of life and lived it to the fullest. He worked hard and played even harder. Surviving his accident in October of 2008, Patrick still had a contagious smile that would brighten everyone’s day. You could never stay mad at Pat for long when he flashes that smile at you.

Everyone that knew Patrick knew he was a singer of songs, teller of jokes and the leader of a good time. He was the most Loving Father, Brother, and Friend you could ask for.

Patrick was proceeded in death by his Parents James P McNicholas Jr, Barbara Ann (nee Schultz), and Sister Colleen Szudarski (nee McNicholas). Patrick is survived by his Sons James and Michael McNicholas, Sisters Mauleen (Eric Maly), Mary Bridget (Bruce Graham). Loving Nieces & Nephews Mickey (Stephanie), Stephen, Anthony (Haily) Szudarski; Michael (Kristen), Mitchell (Kelly), Matthew Maly; Madeline and Liam Graham. Many Great Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles and Many, Many Cousins.

A Special Thank You to Patrick’s Care team from Lakewood Nursing & Rehab Center of Plainfield IL along with his Team at Advent Bolingbrook Hospital. The Compassion, Love and Support given to Patrick these past few years is greatly appreciated.

A Memorial Service Celebrating Patrick will be held Friday January 27, 2023 at St. Alexanders Church 300 S Cornell Ave, Villa Park IL.

The Family will welcome guest at 9:30, followed by Mass at 10:15.
