Patrick's obituary

Patrick Antonio Jones, of Atlanta, GA passed away on February 15, 2020.

Patrick was born on August 23, 1971, to Patrick Lewis and Joyce Anne Jones- Fyffe, and raised by Gladstone and Joyce Fyffe. He grew up with his brothers and sisters, Yolanda, Darlene, Shua, Reginald, Earle, Marlond and many cousins in Waterbury, Connecticut. Patrick was affectionately known as Chucky or Chuck.
As a young child, Patrick developed a love and interest in music. Patrick sang in the junior choir and enjoyed playing the drums during worship service at Mount Olive Church of God in Christ. Patrick attended numerous Sunday School classes where he learned about the life, work, ministry and ultimate sacrifice that Jesus Christ made on his behalf and for all those that would put their trust in HIM. As a young child, Patrick also served as a boy scout.

Patrick always had a heart for his family and was willing to help his family whenever and however he could. Patrick’s daughter, Tiara was the sparkle in his eyes as he spoke fondly of her often and was most passionate about his love, dreams, and hopes for her. To say that Patrick was a proud father, would be an understatement. Patrick had a wonderful and warm smile and is remembered as a quiet and gentle giant.

Patrick was a hard worker, and for several years worked as a professional mover for a local moving company in Connecticut where he enjoyed the trust and admiration of the business owner. Patrick’s hard work ethic seemed to position him for opportunities for God’s favor wherever he went. This was also true when Patrick moved to Atlanta GA and quickly obtained a career as a Certified Lead Interstate Flagger and once again received favor from God and with the owner of the company.

Some of Patrick’s favorite hobbies were watching professional basketball, football (NY Giants to be exact), cooking, cleaning, listening to jazz and working with his hands to put things together that most people found to be extremely difficult.
As a man of action and service, Patrick committed numerous hours of his time helping his Dad (Pastor. G.G Fyffe) and siblings complete a major church renovation at Liberty Voice of Holiness Church in College Park GA in 2016. The completion of the renovation was largely due to Patrick’s can-do attitude and spirit of service.

Patrick is survived by Joyce and Gladstone Fyffe, his mom and dad, his six siblings: Yolanda and Darlene of Waterbury, Connecticut; Reginald, Shua, Earle, and Marlond of Atlanta GA. He is survived by his nieces and nephews: Michael, Ray, Keira, Rayona, Diamond, Anijah, Elijah, Isaiah, Earl, Bintou, Molly, Joy, Ivana, Josiah, and Jon-Ezra.

Patrick is survived by great-nephews, Mikey, Juston and Jayce and a multitude of family members in both the Byrd/ Jones Family.
Patrick is survived by his pride and joy, his most precious gifts, his daughter Tiara; and his former wife Fanta Rodgers and children; Ginuwine and Mia.

He is preceded in death by his father Patrick Lewis.

A viewing will be held on Friday, February 21st from 6:00- 8:00 pm at Hope Funeral Home in Fayetteville, GA. The funeral will be on Saturday, February 22nd at 11:00 am at Christian City Welcome Center Chapel in Union City, GA with viewing one hour before the service. Graveside service will be at 1:00 pm that afternoon at Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Palmetto, GA
