Patrick's obituary
Patrick (Pat) Joseph Goodreau, was taken up to Heaven on September 29th, 2024, at the age of 58. Patrick was the most interesting, loving, and stubborn person you could ever meet. He always knew how to keep a party going, create laughter in dark times, and was determined to pursue any challenge he faced head-on. More importantly, he was a proud father, brother, and papa.
On September 28th, 1966, Patrick was born to Delmer (Butch) and Eva in Portsmouth, Virginia. Growing up in Greenland, Michigan, he attended Ontonagon Area Jr-Sr High School. Soon after graduating, he enlisted to serve in the United States Air Force, went on to study at Fox Valley Technical College, and pursued his career in the paper-making business at Clearwater Paper for 22 years and Cardinal Tissue for a short period.
Patrick and his first wife, BaLynda, had three children together, Jonathan, Danielle, and Justin, during the years of 1986-1991. Years to follow, he remarried and had his daughter, Brianna, in 2001, with his second wife, Maribel. He also welcomed in Maribel’s son, Dakota, as one of his own. Patrick recently resided in North Carolina and treasured a life with his fiancé, Renee, and their two boy kitties, who he loved very much.
Patrick enjoyed many hobbies and activities throughout his life. During his earlier years, he was a Volunteer Firefighter for Land O’ Lakes, and participated (and won) in many competitive archeries, bowling, and dart shooting tournaments, including the National Dart Tournament in Las Vegas. Whenever possible, he made time for golfing, fishing, hunting, downhill skiing, and snowmobiling. He always had a passion for cooking delicious homemade meals, and enjoyed spending time and creating unforgettable memories with family and friends. If there was anything he loved more than all of that, it was his Harley and the Michigan Wolverines.
Those left to cherish memories of Patrick are his fiancé, Renee; his children: Jonathan (Samantha), Danielle, Justin, Dakota, and Brianna.
His precious grandchildren that he adored: Braylen, Logan, Lincoln, Anna Grace, Temperance, Wyatt and Emmitt
His mother, Eva; and his siblings: Michael (Colleen), Denise (Jim), Donald, Jerald, and Daniel (Meirian), as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly. He is predeceased by his father, Delmer.
He will be remembered for his distinct personality, his lifelong passions, and his love and dedication to his family. We will forever carry the memories of him in our hearts as we continue to reflect on the badass man he was.
Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral service, held at St. Mary Catholic Church in Rockland, Michigan on Saturday, October 26, at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will be held afterward at the Chalet in Greenland, Michigan.
