Patricio's obituary

Patricio Villarreal was born on September 25, 1939, in Mercedes, Texas, to Dionicio and Maria Trinidad Villarreal. He attended Harlingen High School and joined the U.S. Army at the age of 17. He met his beloved wife, Bertha, in El Paso, Texas, and they had three children, Bertha Patricia (Bert), Richard, and Irene. The family moved to the Dallas/Fort Worth area, where they continued to create cherished memories as a family. Family and friends also knew him as Papo, Tio Pat, and Uncle Pat.

Pat worked as a truck driver to provide for his family, and he enjoyed his long drives across the country over the years. After retiring from truck driving, he moved to Cypress, Texas and worked for the Operations department in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD.

He loved bringing joy to others and spending quality time with his family and friends. Pat and Bertha often hosted gatherings during weekends and holidays, and their home was always filled with food, love, and laughter. During football season, you would find him cheering on his Longhorns and Cowboys. He held an unwavering faith in God, and he was known for finishing every conversation with “God bless you.”

Pat is survived by his son, Richard, and his wife, Dina; daughter, Irene and her husband, Mario; brothers, Dionicio Villarreal, Jr. and Joe Marroquin; and sister, Leah Nay. He also leaves his beloved grandchildren to cherish his memory, Anthony, Victoria, Michael, Yazmine, Christopher, and Brian; and great-grandchildren, Isaac, Ayzlee, Saydee, Macyee, and Shayenne.

Pat is preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Villareal; daughter, Bertha Patricia Villareal (Bert); parents, Dionicio and Maria Trinidad Villarreal; brother, Pete Villarreal; sisters, Maria Elena Villarreal, Esther Boyle, and Carmen Mashburn; and great-granddaughter, Krisleigh Works.

Papo will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him, but we rejoice in knowing he is dancing and singing in heaven.
