Patricia's obituary
Patricia Ann Sullivan, née Schmid (but "Ma" to most in the family), was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world peacefully on January 1, 2022 at age 87.
She was born to Alfred and Martha Schmid on June 13, 1934 and grew up on Robin Street in Rochester's 10th Ward. It wasn't long after graduating from Marshall High School—where Pat met her life-long beau, Bruce—that the two wed in 1954. Together, they had 3 children: Bruce, Tim, and Michael, and ultimately spent their life further west of the city in Brockport, where they raised the family.
Pat is pre-deceased by her mother (Martha, 1999), father (Alfred, 1987), sister (Doris, 2020), brother (Robert, 1932), and husband (Bruce, 2000). She is survived by her three sons, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, friends, and others.
Patricia was known to those who loved her for her infectious laugh, funny quips, the ability to provide comfort to others, and her steadfast devotion to her family. She always told you she loved you! Memories will linger on of holidays and meals spent around her table, her famous "noodles and tomatoes," tasty goulash, and countless other hours playing marbles, Yahtzee, Skip-Bo, Uno, and other games. There is some comfort in knowing that Patricia is now reunited with Bruce, whose loss Pat still felt deeply some 20+ years later.
Per Pat's wishes, and to minimize any potential spread of COVID-19 at this time, no funeral service is currently planned. Her ashes, however, will be laid to rest with Bruce at Lakeview Cemetery in Brockport. In lieu of a service, we the family, invite you to leave any remembrances and photos here virtually.
Psalm 118:24 (ESV): "This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it."
