Patricia's obituary

Mrs. Patricia Jo "Pat" Stroba (née Schultz), age 63, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2025, in Galien, Michigan. Born on June 21, 1961, in Burbank, California, Pat lived a life marked by resilience, devotion, and deep love for her family and faith.

Pat was raised in Michigan and graduated from Watervliet High School. In 1979, she was honored as the second runner-up for Miss Watervliet—a reflection of her grace and presence within the community. Throughout her life, she remained deeply connected to her roots and those who knew her during those formative years.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Pat is survived by her beloved daughter Abigail L. Klitscher (Stroba), age 40, of Hamlet, Indiana; and two cherished grandchildren: Landon Storey of Louisiana and Gabriella Klitscher of Galien, Michigan. Her love for them was unwavering and all-encompassing.

Pat’s home was also shared with her three treasured feline companions—Clearance, Winslow, and Oliver—who brought her daily joy and comfort. She held a special place in her heart for animals and had previously shared 24 loving years with her calico cat Phoebe.

She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Loretta Schultz (Brant) of Coloma, Michigan; her sister Lou Ann Berry (Schultz); her best friend Judith Rantz of Watervliet; and her beloved cat Phoebe.

A woman of enduring faith, Pat was a devoted believer in Jesus Christ. Her spiritual strength carried her through many challenges in life—including surviving mesothelioma and remaining in remission for nearly a decade. She faced each day with courage and gratitude, never losing sight of the hope she found in her faith.

Pat found beauty in the world around her—especially through the art of Thomas Kinkade—and she surrounded herself with things that brought light into her life. Above all else, she loved deeply: her daughter, grandchildren, friends, family—and every creature that crossed her path.

May Patricia Jo Stroba’s memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
