Patty's obituary
Patricia "Patty" Roberge, age 61, of Acworth, Georgia, has reunited with our loving Father into the Kingdom of Heaven, after a six-year long battle with Ovarian Cancer. Patty faced her illness with incredible strength and grace before passing away peacefully on May 22nd, 2025.
Patty was born to Lawrence Dean and Marcia June Kinneavy on December 15, 1963 in San Luis Obispo, California.
As a child, Patty loved classical music and was a talented piano player. She loved to read, visit the beach, and spend time with her friends and family. Many of her fondest memories revolved around her siblings and her childhood friends. Patty attended Old Mission School Catholic School from kindergarten through ninth grade. She then attended San Luis Senior High and graduated in 1982.
On January 14th, 1984, Patty gave birth to her first child, Brandi. She then attended California Polytechnic University until she met the love of her life, Danial Roberge. They were married June 21st, 1987, and soon after moved to Marietta, Georgia. She then transferred to Kennesaw State University and attended classes. On March 2nd, 1991, she gave birth to her second child, Alara. She graduated with a bachelors degree in Business Administration on December 7th, 1991. On December 26th, 1996, Patty gave birth to her third child, Keely.
When Patty's parents decided to move to Georgia to be near their grandchildren, they began attending Transfiguration Catholic Church. Patty was raised Catholic but it really seemed that when she joined this church with her entire family, a new love and passion for Jesus would come to fruition. She enrolled her children into catechism classes, she would volunteer with Saint Vincent De Paul, and eventually would come to find a beautiful group within the church called "Women in Faith" that completely opened her heart up to a new kind of relationship with God entirely. She continued to attend Transfiguration and Women in Faith until the very end of her life. Patty shared her love for God with warmth and kindness to everyone she knew.
Patty joins her parents Lawrence Dean Kinneavy and Marcia June Kinneavy and her grandparents Francis Stephen Kinneavy, Anna Hortense Kinneavy, and Edward LaParr in Heaven. She is survived by many loving family members; her husband; Danial Roberge, her daughters; Brandi Barton, Alara Bowe, Keely Roberge, her siblings; Peggy Dillon, Kim Pozarelli, James Kinneavy, her son-in-law; Mikeal Bowe, her grandchildren; Madeline Bowe, Adam Barton, Ava Grace Bowe, and Carl Dean Barton.
Patty loved animals, nature, gardening, bird watching, reading, studying her bible, and spending time with her family - especially her grandchildren. She had all four her grandchildren right around the time of her diagnosis, and this brought her a newfound energy and zest for life. She often attributed them to being how she managed surviving the first occurrence and staying in remission for as long as she did. The love she passed to these children in just five years will certainly withstand the test of time and forever remain in our hearts.
A funeral resurrection mass to celebrate Patty’s life will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Transfiguration Catholic Church, 1815 Blackwell Rd, Marietta, GA 30066. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance (OCRA) in Patty's honor.
"Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." -Isaiah 43:19
