Patricia Ann Laughbaum Rhodes, 80, of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, passed away on March 12, 2022 surrounded by her husband, children and dear friends. Pat was born on November 11, 1941 to Stanley and Betty Laughbaum in Galion, Ohio. She was one of 5 children, growing up on the idyllic Appledale Farm. After graduating from Galion High School, Pat went on to marry Robert "Boomer" Rhodes of Shelby, Ohio, in 1969. Together they had 4 treasured children, Jim, Beth, Aaron and Patrick. Pat dedicated her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother. She had a vast array of interests and talents and excelled at everything she did. She was a magnificent artist, and that talent lives on through her children and grandchildren. Each of her children, today, have a menagerie of pets, as Pat instilled in them the love of animals. They are musicians, because music was such a part of their upbringing. Her love of baking and incredible artistry inspired her daughter to become a pastry chef. Her passion for sewing has resulted in countless quilts, pillows and clothes to comfort her loved ones, and has hatched a budding seamstress in her granddaughter. Each of her children have grown up to be completely different people, yet deeply connected to one another because Pat allowed self expression and creativity to abound in her chaotic, safe home. Her love of family extended beyond her own children to her nieces and nephews, whom she loved as her own. In her final days, she blessed each of her children and proclaimed her life as blessed, having had a 52 year love affair with her faithful husband. She had a peace that passes all understanding, as her faith was strong and her God is good. Though her very essence seems to still be with us, permeating everything she loved so deeply, we will miss her greatly. There will be a celebration of life on March 26 at 4pm at Nativity Lutheran Church, 4075 Holly Drive, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
