Patti's obituary
Patricia Marilyn Reynolds
“Patti”
August 13, 1945 – July 25, 2025
Patti was born in Denver, CO to William Fenton Miller and Margaret Francis Ryan-Miller on August 13, 1945. Coincidentally, Patti was born on her sister Carolyn Thayer Miller’s fifth birthday. They called each other Poochie / Poochers. Patti also had another older sister, Margaret (Peggy) Miller, and a younger brother, William (Bill) Miller. Their father was an engineer for Boeing. His career took their family to several states, including Seattle, WA; Minneapolis, MN; Tucson, AZ; Boise, ID; Lancaster, CA; and Santa Maria, CA. Patti attended Santa Maria High School and graduated in 1964. It was there that she met her lifelong best “Palz” Kathi. After high school, Patti attended jr. college for secretarial studies and vocational school to become a state-certified LVN. In 1967, she traveled to Vicenza, Italy, and was married in Venice soon after. Patti had her first daughter, Dawn, on June 17, 1968 (Aviano Air Base). While in Italy, they enjoyed taking the train throughout the beautiful countryside, often traveling to Germany and other amazing destinations. Patti and another new, lifelong best friend, Judy, would pretend they understood and could speak Italian. They somehow managed to stay out of trouble while exploring new towns in Italy together. Patti and her family returned to the States in 1970. Her second daughter, Shannon, was born on September 3, 1972 (Queen of the Valley Hospital, West Covina, CA). The 70s were magical times filled with love, family, and unforgettable friendships. Patti was an amazing cook and would often sew cute outfits for her girls.
Patti lived in San Diego from 1990 – 2022. During that time, she enjoyed years of singing with her church choir. Those closest to Patti found her personality to be sweet, yet unfiltered and funny.
