I spent almost 30 years in the Army.  For all of this time, I was separated by 100s if not thousands of miles from my sister Pat.  However, we talked quite often.  About anything and everything.  Parents, children, siblings, relatives, etc.  Subjects we agreed upon and those we did not (e.g., politics).  I miss these conversations.  Pat was a brilliant and opinionated woman.  She was also respectful and loving.   She believed in Jesus Christ as her savior and I will see her again one day.  I miss my sister Pat.

My family won't be able to make it to the celebration of life, but I wanted to share a story of Aunt Pat that has affected me for quite a while. Aunt Pat was such a caring person and it was easy to tell. One time, I remember we were at a birthday party for my grandmother (Aunt Pat's mother) and Pat took me and my brother to the bar to get kiddie cocktails since we were clearly not old enough to drink, but the restaurant we went to had a bar in it. I remember thinking that it was really cool to be at the bar and I think Aunt Pat knew that as well. But we got to talk and get caught up since we had not seen each other in a while. I think it's safe to say that I will always remember that moment and I will miss her greatly.
