Patricia's obituary

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Patricia Piccolo, who left us on July 5, 2024. Born on May 13, 1934 in Oneonta, NY, Patricia lived a life of love, kindness and devotion. She was a beacon of perseverance and strength, inspiring everyone around her.

Patricia used to work for New York City in the taxi and limousine commission that regulated taxi drivers licenses and their medallions to own cabs. She commuted on the subway every work day and knew her husband  from the age of 13. He was very Italian and she's pretty Irish so back then that was quite the pairing! They married in 1954 and had three children, Robert, Nancy, and Joseph. Robert went on to marry Cathleen in 1980 and she became part of the family and called Patricia “Mom” ever since. Cathy’s brothers Jimmy and Billy, and sister, Mary were also loved by Patricia and she enjoyed spending time with them, especially drinking Mary’s cosmos and her husband Roland’s cookouts!

In 1984 Patricia, became a grandmother to Angela, and again in 1991 to Jessica who both lovingly called her “Nana”. Jessica went on to have two boys, Daniel and Leon who would know her as “Grammie.” They have fond memories in Disney World and many other family adventures.

Patricia loved to travel into the city and created many memories with her friends and family seeing shows, spending time in Bryant Park, and shopping (usually at Macy’s and Lord and Taylor.) She also enjoyed going on cruises to different places and even treated the entire family to the biggest ship on the ocean at the time in 2011!

Nancy, her daughter, took care of her throughout her elder years in the home Patricia lived in for over 60 years in Richmond Hills, Queens, New York. Patricia recently celebrated her 90th birthday.

We celebrate the life of Patricia, a woman who touched many hearts and will be deeply missed. Rest in peace, Mom, Nana, Grammie, and thank you for the love you gave us all.
