Patricia's obituary
Patti attended school at St Mary's, St Vincent de Paul and graduated from Hampton High School class of 1963. She went directly into Riverside School of Nursing where she held a leadership role in the Student Nurses Association and developed many lifelong friendships.
After graduating from Nursing School, Patti found her niche as a Registered Nurse on the "graveyard" shift in ICU. She was well-known for her passion of mentoring and teaching new nurses. Everyone that worked with her knew that she did not tolerate unanswered call bells or silenced alarms without checking patient comfort and safety.
Patti was instrumental in starting the first parish nursing program at Immaculate Conception. In this role she did blood pressure checks, blood drives and directed people to various agencies and additional medical resources. Many parishioners valued her contributions.
Patti was an avid reader. She also enjoyed cross stitch, crochet, and crafts. She participated in everything her children were involved in such as cub scouts, boy scouts, girl scouts and school volunteer service. She was known as "mom" to many as a result of her nurturing and welcoming personality.
Patti is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Guy W Mugler; daughters Betty Lou Mugler Steel and Laura Ann Mugler Jones; her grandchildren Samantha A Milam, Kyle A Carper, Casandra Jones, Edward "Wyatt " Jones, Katelyn A Steel, Carson G Jones, Kailee Mugler, Ashley Mugler, Guy Mugler and Gavin Towner; great grandchildren Cadence Milam and Wesley Jones; brother Edward Page and sister Mary Beth Page. She was predeceased by her son David Alan Mugler.
Patti lived by the simple philosophy of treating others like you would like to be treated. She always put others before herself. Even in her final weeks, with the sudden loss of her son, David, to Covid19, she was focused on comforting others.
Words cannot express our sincere gratitude for the excellent care of the hospice nursing team and the love and support of her family and friends.
Due to current conditions with COVID19, there will not be a public Memorial service. We ask that all who knew and loved Patti please join her family in celebrating her life by sharing pictures and memories on this digital Memorial Site.
