Trisha's obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia "Trisha" Dunstan, known fondly to friends and family as Trisha. She graced this world with her bright energy from the day of her birth on Apr 3, 1957 until her departure on Jul 14, 2023.
Trisha has left a powerful legacy and will be greatly missed by her loving family. She is survived by her daughters: Simone Smith, her son-in-law: William Smith, and her cherished grandchildren: Tristan Smith, Amara Smith, Logan Smith and Erin Smith (who was like a granddaughter to her). Trisha also leaves behind her siblings: her sisters Pamela Jennings and Sue Jennings, and her brother Dan Jennings. Her Cousins Jan and Lisa Kennedy and her niece Melissa Jennings. She is reunited in death with her parents Dean and Patricia Jennings.
Trisha was a woman of deep strength and persisting independence. Her tenacity and curiosity were infectious and served her well throughout her life. Above all, she was kind and energetic, always ready with a comforting word or an infectious laugh. She was a lover of coffee, known for drinking it joyfully all day long. But what she savored most was the proximity of nature. It was there that she found her peace and her passion.
At the heart of Trisha's greatest accomplishments were her family, her beautiful gardens, her horses, and her adored pets. She also offered a wealth of wisdom to those fortunate enough to know her, highlighting the importance of strength, a love for nature, and compassion.
She could be found hiking, bike riding, camping, snowshoeing with her dogs, kayaking and various other activities in nature. She was very active. Boyne City Michigan was a special place to her. She loved spending time near lake Charlevoix as she had spent many Summer childhood days sailing on the family Sunfish and playing on the beach of their Summer cabin on Springwater Beach.
Her greatest legacy is her unyielding love of nature and her ability to find wonder and beauty in even the smallest of creatures. This admiration also extended to her love of humanity, exemplified by her tight-knit bond with family, friends, and coworkers who became her extended family over the years. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her and loved her.
