I'm at a loss without her. I knew this day would come, but you are never prepared. I am so blessed to have had her in my life for 36 years. A girl can only hope to have a mother in law they get along with. Me, I won the lottery with her for Mother In Laws. She was always there for me, from the very beginning. Not only did she accept me from day one, but she loved me and became my friend.
She was always gentle and kind. Sometimes stubborn, but always put everyone before her own well being. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family was her everything. Talking with her about her grandchildren and great grandchildren, you could always here the pride in her voice as she spoke about them.
I will miss her words of wisdom, her smile, her laughter, and her hugs. She could never tell a joke and make it to the punchline without cracking herself up.
Most of all, I will miss our girl talks and her phone calls. It is devastating to think I will never be able to talk to her again. I know she always wanted a daughter and told me I was the daughter she never had. I hope she knew how much I loved her and was proud to call her my mother in law and my friend. Forever you will be in my heart.
