Patrice's obituary
Patrice Melanie Ross Moolah, beloved educator, and Champion for Christ, was 50 years old when she passed away on February 8, 2022, after a valiant battle with ovarian cancer.
Patrice was born on May 8, 1971, in Kingston, Jamaica, to parents Henry and Collene Ross. She was the seventh child of eight children. Patrice attended Miami Southridge Senior High where she met her first husband, Pete Headley. Patrice earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at FIU in 1996 and worked for the State as a Social Worker. A few years later, Patrice decided to pursue a career in education receiving her certification and working for the Miami-Dade County Public School system as a 4th grade teacher at Leisure City K-8 Center. Later, she transferred to Cutler Ridge Elementary, teaching third and fourth grade. Patrice’s passion for teaching took her to pursue a master’s degree in Reading. Patrice’s last position was teaching her lively “Firsties” whom she loved dearly. Despite dealing with her cancer and its treatment, she continued to maintain the same zeal while inspiring not only her students, but their parents and her fellow co-workers.
On October 25th, 2009, Patrice married her current husband Pete Moolah. On that day Pete found the love of his life as he continues to call her to this day. Patrice was a joyful, loving, spontaneous person. Aside from taking care of her Shih Tzu/Maltese dog, Kirby, her hobbies included traveling, dancing, and playing pranks on others. She was amazingly creative at writing and during her last four years she wrote a highly inspirational blog for others to understand her faith.
In 1993 Patrice made the greatest decision of her life upon accepting Jesus as her one and only Savior. Without a doubt, her favorite hobby and pastime was sharing her faith with others. Patrice’s faith and hope in her salvation and her assurance of her final home in heaven encouraged her medical team, co-workers, family members, and even people she did not know who read her blog. She was truly a servant.
A Celebration of Life will take place at Christ Fellowship Church on Saturday, February 26th at 9:00 AM. Please refer to Events tab for more information.
