Paco's obituary
In Loving Memory of Paco Martinez
January 26, 1956 – June 1, 2025
Paco Martinez passed away peacefully on June 1, 2025, after a courageous and hard-fought battle with lung cancer. He was 69 years old.
Born on January 26, 1956, Paco lived a life full of love, laughter, and unwavering strength. On February 29, 2020, he married his childhood best friend and lifelong companion, Maria DeSantiago. Their love story, years in the making, was one of deep friendship and enduring devotion. Together, they raised four loving daughters and were blessed with eight grandchildren. His family was his pride and joy.
Paco was a man of many talents—a true jack of all trades. Whether fixing something around the house or offering a helping hand, he met every task with skill and heart. By day, he was a hardworking provider and problem-solver; by night, he was a sharp-witted poker player who loved the thrill of the game. He often referred to himself as the smartest man in the world.
He found joy in the simple things: collecting little treasures, picking wildflowers, savoring delicious meals, and taking long, peaceful walks with his loyal dog, Chico—his best buddy. His life was rich with small pleasures, meaningful connections, and deep love for his treasures, his four girls, and his family and friends.
Paco always said he was blessed and grateful, no matter the circumstances. He carried a deep appreciation for life and made it known that his greatest wish was for everyone around him to just BE HAPPY. His uplifting spirit, positive heart, and incredible strength left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He was welcomed into heaven by the grace of God and reunited with his beloved mother, Benita, and his dear sisters, Terry and Lilia. Though his physical presence will be missed beyond measure, the memories he leaves behind will remain forever etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Paco’s life will be held on July 12, 2025 where close friends and family will gather to honor his legacy, share stories, and remember the man who brought so much laughter and strength into their lives.
Rest in peace, Paco. Your love, laughter, and gratitude live on in all of us.
