Our Dad, Otto Joseph Hoffmann, lead a full and amazing life. The gentleman was just that, a gentleman. He was patient, tolerant, thoughtful, and kind. We loved him very much. Dad was more than just dad, he was a great friend. He loved all of his family and his extended family too. Dad was an awesome and exceptional Grandfather. He will be so very missed by all his grandchildren. Our Dad retired from his last job when he was eighty-two. He liked to complete projects he worked on no matter their size or schedule. Dad was a war hero. He was what is referred to as a "Ninety-day wonder". He was taught to fly a bomber plane in the Air Force with only ninety days of training. He got it done. He later worked and retired from Mobil Oil where he would haul gas in large trucks through mountainous roads with icy finishes. Dad was our hero too. He moved to Florida where he decided to continue working for many years with Jess Parrish Hospital in Titusville. Dad enjoyed Florida very much. He bought a boat and joined the Coast guard auxiliary. He loved fishing, fixing things and buying and selling cars. Whether it was his friends at the VFW or somebody he had taken a moment to give his time, Dad brought light to everyone he met. He did so much for everyone around him. It is hard to capture the essence of this man in only a paragraph. His life was so much more. We all love you, Dad! Godspeed!
