Oscar (Eric) Olson passed away in Traverse City, Michigan at Munson Medical Center on 05/16/2021. He was preceded in his death by his father, John M. Olson. He leaves behind his loving partner, (Tuyen) as well as his two sons, Eric A. Olson and Leif E. Olson, mother Patricia D. Olson, three brothers Dave Olson, Martin A. Olson and Kirk D. Olson and two sisters Alma E. Suisse and Patricia L. Davidson as well as many nieces and nephews.

Oscar (Eric) honorably served in the U. S. Army as an 11B (Infantrymen) and 74D (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Specialist) with A Co 1/508th Inf Abn, Fort Bragg, NC from 9/17/1982 - 7/19/1986. He earned the rank of Sergeant (E-5) and was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge (CIB) while bravely serving in Grenada, (1983.) After an honorable discharge, Oscar (Eric) continued working as a Machinist and recently retired in 2019.

Oscar (Eric) was a noble and brave man. He loved history, weaponry (vintage), and the country for which he served as a true patriot. His loving family and friends will forever remember him as a truthful, concise, blunt, and kind son, father, brother, and friend.
