Opal's obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Opal Hooks-wife of famed photojournalist and first Black male NASA employee in moon-reach endeavors-Henry L. Hooks.  Opal entered this world in December of 1923, and transitioned from earth on May 22, 2024.  Opal's remarkable life was characterized by her quite grace and sweet spirit.

Her journey on this earth was a tapestry of love and service, touching countless lives along the way. We will forever remember her for her wisdom and the warmth she brought into this world.

She is survived by her beloved nieces Brenda Davenport, Sharon Combs, Greshun De Bouse, and a host of other family members and friends who were fortunate to have known her. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate a life well lived.  A private Celebration of Life will be held on June 25, 2024 at 3:00 pm

2900 Municipal Pier Rd Shreveport, LA 71119 for family.

Family should contact Greshun De Bouse for further information.
