Omie Altie Mae Burks, 60 years of age, passed on November 29,2022 in Corinth, Mississippi. Growing up she loved horses, fishing, and taking care of her pigs. She graduated from Adamsville High School in 1979. After graduating, she married Daniel McAfee and decided to enlist in the army. Finding out she was to have her first child she decided to become a full-time mother. August 1983, Tiffany McAfee, was born. Then in 1988, Charity McAfee, was born. Omie was a strong woman. She decided to go into Construction and road work. She provided everything needed for her two children. In 2003, Omie was in an accident that paralyzed her. A few years later she had to have her leg amputated due to osteomyelitis. Tiffany and Charity as well as other family members helped Omie as me as much as she would allow them. She was a very independent woman. Always had a smile for everyone. In 2021, Thanksgiving day, our family was given tragic news. Omie had cancer. We were blessed with one more year with her. She is no longer suffering. She leaves behind two children, Tiffany and Charity. As well as three grandchildren, Alyssa and Kayden McCollum and Isabella Jourdan.
