Oh my sweet Omar, Your smile…
2019, World Languages Institute Fall Festival
Oh my sweet Omar, Your smile was infectious, it always made my day. You were my right hand go to student, you knew this, when I had so crazy project you knew I was going to ask you for help! You knew when I was stressed or worried and you always knew how to make me laugh. Our 4th period and Estudiantina will never be the same. A few weeks ago, I addressed your class on the loss of a student from another school and I told all of you that I wanted you to know how devastated I would be if this happened to any of you and I wanted you know that I love each and everyone of you. Tonight I am glad we had that talk but I am also lost in the fact that we will never get to see you again. You were a such an amazing gift to us all from God. Sleep well sweet Omar! Love always, Mrs. Niño

My heart goes out to Omar’s family and to all of the people who were fortunate to meet him and love him. He was truly a remarkable student, friend, and person.

I am his social studies teacher. In my class, he was a shining star. Omar was one of my most hardworking students and was absolutely brilliant! As a person, he was kind, polite, and always willing to help. He was friends with everyone and everyone liked him. WLI will definitely miss you, Omar. I will miss your sweet smile.

May you all find peace and comfort. ❤️
Omar was my student in Computer Enrichment Lab. I am very saddened to hear of his passing. Omar was a great student and a great person. I will never forget how he warmly greeted me every morning with a firm handshake, and the many times he made me laugh with his witty humor. He was extremely talented and my most thoughtful student. You will be missed Omar.

Deepest condolences to Omar’s family, friends, and teachers. I never had him as a student, but I know Omar was a great person. He will be missed.
"I have been personally broken at the news of Omar' s passing. I had him this year as my Algebra 2 student. He was a very bright and good hearted student with a warm heart and smile. He will be missed dearly by his classmates and myself. My heart will ache seeing his seat empty this coming Tuesday. My prayers go out to his Family. May Omar be in the warm arms of Jesus in the pearly Gates of Heaven"
I was devastated to hear about the loss of your beautiful son. I cannot imagine the depth of your sorrow. It was my privilege to be his fourth grade teacher. He was a brilliant student who taught me as much as I taught him. I was recently in the Texas panhandle and every time I saw the name Goodnight, I thought about Omar and the wonderful social studies project he did about the Goodnight-Loving Trail that did so well at the district fair. I know I will never see a kite in the air without remembering his dedication and endless work on the science fair project that came in first at district. The world has lost a bright and shining star, who in his short stay touched the lives of so many people. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you at this time.
Most sincerely,
Susan Brown
