Lee's obituary
Lee grew up in Canton, Ohio, where she attended Timken High School. Lee's parents emigrated to the United States from Romania in the early 20th century and she was the first of six children. As the eldest child, Lee's siblings looked up to their big sister, who was always there to help while their parents worked long hours to provide for their loving family during the Great Depression. In the early 1950s, Lee wed Nick Scortia of Massilon, Ohio. They had two sons, Mark and Eric. Lee worked in office management and was well-respected for her impeccable secretary skills, efficiency, and work ethic. When Lee and Nick divorced, she later married John Mihaila, to whom she stayed married until his death in 2009. Lee, John, and Eric relocated to Wichita Falls, TX in 1977. She loved music, sewing, crafts of all types, cooking, golfing, bowling, and helping John build airplanes at their hangar. While living in Wichita Falls, Lee also proudly earned her private pilot's license by completing ground school and taking her solo check flight. Lee's first passion was being of service to people, always selflessly willing to lend a hand, give support, offer comfort, and had a compliment or kind word for everyone she encountered. Lee was a devoted Christian and often volunteered for her local church. Her community involvement also included volunteering for the annual "Hotter Than Hell 100" bike race in Wichita Falls. Lee brightened the life of everyone who knew her and she will be remembered for her incredibly kind heart and soul. Her friends and loved ones are grateful to know that she is at peace. Services will be held on Friday, July 22nd at 1 pm at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home and Memorial, 1917 Archer City Hwy. Wichita Falls, 76302, phone number 940-410-4849. All are welcome.
