We weren’t very close, but we crossed paths a few times in our philosophy classes. I always thought you were so cool and loved the energy you brought into the room. You are remembered, and you are deeply missed.
Happy birthday dear Ollie... I miss you so much. We will meet again ❤️
I miss you Olivia and think about you often and remember our bank run together talking about life and goals.  We waited in the Bank of America line in downtown Santa Monica to make deposits and to get change.  I think about that day often.  I also think about your love for your family, friends, Mable and career.  Everyone loved you.  I still have the white two slice toaster you donated to the salon for all to use.  It is still in break room and still used by all.  It's a constant reminder to me of you, your love for all, your kindness and your generosity.  You are missed.  Rest Olive.

Olivia Canak welcomed our children to the Reno family church like they were her younger siblings. She enjoyed sharing her things and interests with the one of our children that showed interest.  Her warmth is felt through her smile and her actions .

I have never met anyone as charming and loving as you Olivia. Wherever you went, you made friends for life. I can't believe you left, but wherever you are, I know you'll love and be loved. I will think of you all the time, just like I did before you passed. You truly are unique and I will love you forever.
Olivia was my roommate for six months in 2018 in Richmond. I had moved there for a work project and she welcomed me into her home. We became very close quickly and shared stories about our struggles in love life, love for Peruvian food and big future aspirations. We had the best times when we went out dancing on Friday nights. You were of course the best dog mom. Mabel was so spoiled! When I was at my lowest while overworked and away from family, she was always there to converse and lift my spirits after every hard day at work. She is independent, understanding, and fiercely loyal. She had become one of my closest friends with whom I could share anything. I had just spoken to you a week before you passed when you were checking up on me. I miss you so much Olivia, rest easy. My thoughts go out with you and your family.
Every now and then I would care of Mabel for Olivia and would then send her photos or videos during the day. Thus, alas, I have several of Mabel but only one of Olivia.

I had the pleasure of working with Olivia for the past two years at our hair salon in Berkeley. Ollie was like a daughter to me. She was well liked by all her colleagues and all of the clients too, always smiling, upbeat and chatty. She was the bright light and the life of our salon. She would treat everyone with outmost respect, weather was a UC Profesor or a homeless person and all the range in between. I have nothing but great memories with her and of her!

At her memorial/ celebrations of her life which was beautifully preformed on Sunday 3/8/20, lovely posters of her with beautiful flowers everywhere, many talked and shared special memories which brought both tears and smiles to all.

One of the most recent memories that I have from Ollie was for this past Valentine’s Day. She had made little 3x4 pink and red cards online with a different pictures of her dog Mabel on them and a little print which said “ Celebrate Love” and “ Love to Love”. She gave each one of us one with her beautiful smile. When she gave me mine she said, “oh, Parya, I have one for her too”. Parya is my daughter and Ollie was like a big sister to her. She went back to her station and got one more out and she signed it in the back addressed it to my daughter
“ To Parya, Love Olivia “. The two of them had a special bond and connection. They loved each other so much! The very next day Ollie asked me if I gave that card to Parya. She made sure to ask me. Yes, I gave it to her, took a picture of her and the card and texted it back to Ollie with a thank you and an emoji red heart! She wanted to make sure we know that she loved us!

I worked with her on her last day Saturday 2/22/20 too .
It seemed like any other ordinary day. She came to work on time and early as always, we were busy, we got to have small chats in between clients, I asked her how she was doing, and she said: I’m fine, what about you? And she took off at the usual time ( 6 pm ) with seemingly usual good old self/ character!
In fact, I called her shortly after she left and reminded her that she left her food container( with some sugar snap peas in it ) in the fridge. She answered her phone and said, “I’m close by I’ll come and get it”. She came back , double parked, ran back to the fridge, got her container, thanked me and left!

I wish she had asked for help!

Ollie we love you and you’ll be forever in our hearts! We truly miss you!

~Ellie
